Of course, in your organization customer is king. At least you make a frantic effort. In practice, the Sales department does indeed put the customer first, but at the same time they work with separate documents and complicated folder structures. Kyung de Jong-Dijkman, Salesforce Administrator at Vloeiend IT, explains in this blog how you can make sure that your customer is king again.
Old, familiar folder structure
The average organization puts the customer first. That is also why many companies choose Salesforce. With Salesforce you optimize every business process where customer interaction takes place, such as marketing, sales, commerce and customer service. But in practice, many colleagues also rely on the old, familiar folder structure, based on how your business processes are structured. So actually, you put your company first, and not your customer.
Hassles
I know everything about it. I used to work like that in the distant past. Create documents in my Microsoft environment, save them in a folder structure that was once devised by a long-retired former colleague, upload them in Salesforce, so that everyone can quickly find all documents. For every change I had to download the document, save it – in which folder again? –, edit and remind myself to upload it again. After all, if you forget to upload the updated file back to Salesforce, all changes will be lost. Not to mention that your colleague has just made another change. So it’s an error-prone mess.
The best of both worlds
Salesforce ensures that you can easily find information and FILE 365 ensures that you can open and edit your Microsoft 365 files directly from Salesforce, including all smart functionalities. If you add a file to a Salesforce record, the file will be moved to SharePoint immediately, and if you upload a file in a SharePoint folder, it is added and displayed in the related Salesforce record. This allows you to work from one application and combine the best of both worlds. In this way, you can make sure that your customer is really king again.
More information?
FILE 365 integrates Microsoft 365 and Salesforce. Documents associated with a record in Salesforce are stored in SharePoint, but can be accessed from either Salesforce or SharePoint.
