Small mistakes, big headaches

You receive a Word or Excel file from a colleague, a supplier or a customer and you have to change one character or one word somewhere. Of course, in Salesforce, your files are exactly where you expect them to be: with your opportunity, case, or account record. Next step is to download the file, make that change, save and upload it again. A lot of fuss for what? Do you recognize this? Then it might be time for an integration of Salesforce with Microsoft 365.

A smarter way of working

We recently spoke with a potential customer. This transport company is constantly being sent Excel files. Every time they need to add a few minimal details and then send the file back. No matter how small the change may be, they have to repeat the whole sequence of actions every time. Download the file, add or change a few data, save the file, and upload it back to the correct record in Salesforce. Moreover, it is unsure if an employee is not distracted during these actions, and before you know it, one of these step is omitted. Or a colleague who is in a hurry thinks: I’ll quickly email the file first and upload it later. Before you know it, the colleague in question has left on vacation or has gone with the wind and no one knows where the correct file is anymore. Surely, there must be a smarter way to do that?

You do the math

We could give countless more examples. At company X, an employee only had to change an ID when an item was exchanged. A small change that takes not one but 10 minutes of your time. If you have to do that thirty times a day… If you can open, edit and save Microsoft 365 files directly from Salesforce, including all the smart functionalities of Microsoft 365, that saves you at least nine minutes per action. And multiply that by thirty and by the number of employees you have. You do the math.

FILE 365 integrates Microsoft 365 and Salesforce. Documents associated with a record in Salesforce are stored in SharePoint, but can be accessed from both Salesforce and SharePoint.
