Researchers do not yet agree on exactly how much time we spend searching for files. The answers range from ten percent of our working time to 25 percent. Be that as it may, we waste a lot of our time simply looking up or saving files. Is that one quote in OneDrive, in Teams, or maybe still somewhere on a file server? Or even worse: with your absent colleague on the hard drive or in the mailbox. In short, a lot of time is wasted in pointless searching. Maybe 2025 is the time to do something about that. Here are three tips on how you, as a user of Salesforce and Microsoft 365, can use your time more efficiently.
1. Use one version of the truth
In other words: work from a single source. Salesforce is a fantastic cloud-based CRM platform that helps organizations to manage and improve their customer relationships. The platform offers various functionalities and tools that you can use to streamline your commercial activities and ultimately increase customer satisfaction. In other words, your customer is central, exactly what you want. But in addition to Salesforce, there’s a lot of information in documents somewhere on a computer or server, or in another cloud platform, such as Microsoft 365. By integrating Salesforce with Microsoft 365, you can make the process of managing your files at the customer level much more efficient. Not only will you be able to find your files much faster, but there is only one version of the truth.
2. Real-time collaboration
Downloading, exchanging, modifying and re-uploading files in Salesforce, with all the risks that entails? This wastes a lot of time. By storing your files in SharePoint, employees can collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and other files in real time. This way, they can be sure that they really have the latest version of the file and they don’t have to waste time waiting for others and searching for the right version. This makes collaboration more efficient and saves time.
3. Access anywhere, anytime
By seeing your Salesforce as the heart of your organization, and storing the files yourself in SharePoint, you can access all your files from anywhere. No searching in mailboxes or hard drives. Do you want to quickly adjust that quote with your smartphone from the comfort of your home? No problem! Do you want to check in the Austrian snow whether your colleague has already written the report of that meeting with the customer? Check!
